Hugh Freeze Contract Details Released
$65 Million Per Year Deal for Six Years
Buyout Figure Set at $5 Million
Auburn University has released the full contract details for new head football coach Hugh Freeze. According to the contract, Freeze will receive an annual salary of $6.5 million for six years, totaling $39 million. He will also receive a retention bonus of $250,000 each February 1, which will increase his total annual compensation to $6.75 million by the end of his contract.
The contract also includes a buyout clause that would require Freeze to pay Auburn $5 million if he leaves for another job before the end of his contract. This buyout clause is significantly lower than the $10 million buyout clause that Freeze had in his previous contract at Liberty University.
Freeze's contract is the richest in Auburn football history, and it reflects the university's commitment to winning football games. Freeze has a proven track record of success, and he will be expected to turn Auburn into a contender in the SEC West.
