Beloved 'Coming to America' Star Passes Away

Madge Dorita Sinclair (née Walters), a Jamaican actress best known for her roles in films such as "Cornbread, Earl and Me" (1975) and "Coming to America" (1988), has passed away at the age of 89.
Sinclair was born in Kingston, Jamaica on April 28, 1938. She began her acting career in the early 1970s, appearing in small roles in films and television shows. Her breakthrough role came in 1975, when she starred in "Cornbread, Earl and Me" alongside Laurence Fishburne.
In 1988, Sinclair gained international fame for her portrayal of Queen Aoleon Joffer, the mother of Eddie Murphy's character, Prince Akeem, in "Coming to America." Her performance in the film was critically acclaimed and helped establish her as one of the most recognizable Caribbean actresses in Hollywood.
